Mention notifications

What are mention notifications?

Mention notifications are the different ways that Workflowy has to let you know that you have a mention pending.

There are three different ways that Workflowy lets you know you have mentions:

• The mention icon in the menu bar on the right-hand side
• The hamburger menu icon if the left-hand sidebar is closed
• The mentions button in the left-hand sidebar

In the mentions icon

The mentions icon in the menu bar will have a notification dot if you have an unread mention.

Note: The mentions icon will only be shown if the two following conditions are met:

1. You have an unread mention 2. The unread mention is located within your current zoom level

1. Click on the mentions icon to view the mention within that space
2. You can click the notification dot again to return to your previous view

In the hamburger menu icon

The hamburger menu icon will have a notification dot if you have an unread mention.

The hamburger menu icon is located on the top-left of the window.

Note: The hamburger menu icon will only be visible if the left-hand sidebar is closed

1. Click on the hamburger menu icon to open the left-hand sidebar
2. Click on the Mentions button to view your mentions
3. You can click the Mentions button again to return to your previous view

In the mentions button

The mentions button is located in the left-hand sidebar at the top.

The mentions button will have a counter that indicates the number of unread mentions on the right.

Note: The mentions button will only be visible if you have unread mentions.

1. Click on the Mentions button to view your mentions
2. You can click the Mentions button again to return to your previous view
