To search based on date

You can search for items with date tags using specific dates, natural language or date ranges.

Search using specific dates

Workflowy currently only uses the US date format month/day/year

1. Click on the search bar
2. Type a specific date
   • All items with that specific date will be shown

You can use the following specific date formats:

MM = month, DD = day, YY = year, HH = hour, mm = minute

MM/DD, MM-DD

MM/DD/YY, MM-DD-YY

MM/DD/YYYY, MM-DD-YYYY

date:MM/DD

date:MM/DD@HH:mm

date:MM/DD/YYYY

Example: date:10/05@5:00

Example: 10/05/2022

Search using natural language

You can use natural language to search for dates.

Natural language searches are not case-sensitive.

1. Click on the search bar
2. Type a natural language date
   • All items with that specific date will be shown

You can use the following natural language to search for dates:

Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday

This week, Next week, Last week

This month, Next Month, Last Month

This year, Next year, Last year

Search a date range

You can search items that have date tags within a range of dates.

1. Click on the search bar
2. Type a date range
   • All items that fall within that specific date will be shown

MM = month, DD = day, YY = year, HH = hour, mm = minute

MM/DD - MM/DD
MM/DD/YY - MM/DD/YY
MM/DD/YYYY - MM/DD/YYYY

Items with date tags before a date

MM = month, DD = day, YY = year, HH = hour, mm = minute

Before today
date:past

Before a specific date
date-before:MM/DD
date-before:MM/DD/YYYY
date-before:MM/DD@HH:mm

Example: date-before:10/05/2021

Items with date tags after a date

MM = month, DD = day, YY = year, HH = hour, mm = minute

After today
date:future

After a specific date
date-after:MM/DD
date-after:MM/DD/YYYY
date-after:MM/DD@HH:mm

Example: date-after:10/05/2021

Items by creation date

MM = month, DD = day, YY = year, h= hours, d = days
