Unlink Hyperlinks
Whilst the UX of being able to type/paste a link into Workflowy and have it magically convert into an actual hyperlink is generally great, there are many times when it would be useful to be able to remove or undo this behaviour.
Ideally, an "unlink" option would be added to the existing dialogue when you right-click a link, and preferably enhance the Ctrl+Z keyboard shortcut to "undo" an automatic hyperlink (this seems to be a common pattern across a lot of similar text editing interfaces).
Examples of unwanted links:
- Technical documentation that includes object-model notation such as `document.id`
- Notes that include example URLs, particularly where aspects like URL parameters are being discussed (e.g. API documentation, site mapping, content design)
- Filenames where extensions match up with TLDs (e.g. vector-file.ai)
- Notes around dangerous or malicious sites (which now become clickable links; not ideal)
- Code snippets
I'm aware this issue has been raised before (How to cancel automatic hyperlinks and Link dropdown doesn't contain the unlink button), both of which contain notes that this has been raised with developers, but I don't see an actual Feature Request for it. (Apologies if this is considered a duplicate of Improve behaviour of hyperlinks... but the conversation there seemed more focused on other aspects of that request.)
