Move Items - Let users move items from one node to another in a single step.
Is anyone still want the simple feature of moving a node with a built-in search feature?
I'd really benefit by being able to move multiple nodes somewhere else... when I'm finished with a particular process.

I came here to ask about this exact feature, I genuinely can't see how to move things into a new place without exiting from a particular node/process. The CTL-SHIFT-M shortcut in Dynalist has become muscle memory for me.
I have multiple lists that are intentionally messy, and only when items from such a list become clear do I move them into an actionable node.
I.e. Below, if I want to move "Rice" into "c. Diet" (several sub-items above, and items deep) is there a way to do so without leaving my "___" (messy) list?
(Dragging to sidebar currently only allows dropping onto the top of a node.
This could however be easily resolved by when click-dragging an item to sidebar - holding-mouse-left >hover< on sidebar node opens that node [as per click], if still holding-mouse-left hovering over subsequent bullets could drill down into those bullets [as per click], and eventually release-mouse-left could place item and return screen to original list.
This way one could drill down to desired item without 'leaving' current list [similar to one good file-drag feature I miss from MacOS].
The only additional functionality here would be adding a "hover" action when dragging, instead of click, then returning list to the original. Bang for buck as far as dev goes!)
Here's the example I had ready to paste! 🤣

@morgs the shortcut ctrl+alt+m works as expected for me on Edge on Win 10. It sounds like somewhere in your system there's an override of that shortcut. Unfortunately, I don't have a suggestion about how best to debug the issue; there a number of keyboard mapping utilities out there which can add a layer of remapping, but I don't know which ones will help you identify existing remaps.

I've gone down the rabbit hole in trying to find what is using that shortcut, various programs show that shortcut as reserved, but I've found no program that shows what is actually using that shortcut.
It did lead me to seeing how common that ctrl-alt-m shortcut is (to make a case for customising shortcuts), see: https://defkey.com/what-means/ctrl-alt-m
Also, that there's no mobile option to move an item on Android, was a shock.
Isn't moving items in the app the fundamental use-case/need for this shortcut? (bcoz there's no keyboard to do so).
The Dynalist android app has up/down arrows, and a move icon (works as per desktop) above the keyboard. Also, there's no easy way to drag items, and dragging an item sideways to "done" ( all | doing | done ) in a fractal board on mobile wasn't possible.

I do use PowerToys and know the keyboard manager, but what exactly do I do?
Map ctl-alt-m to what now?
I also can't select an app, only type a name?
And how will this release the shortcut for Workflowy?
Re: syncing between clients, needs a new ticket, yet honestly with issues adding up not sure if I can keep on with Workflowy (as much as I want to).
My items have not been updating between browsers (a few forced cache refreshes resolved it, but not ideal), then from desktop app to partners macbook-chrome I had to manually clear cache in browser (not extension button) to see latest - is this a new/current known issue? -
"Cannot remap a shortcut to itself"
UPDATE: My issue was Macrium Reflect which hides it's shortcut in ReflectMonitor, that should be in tray, but doesn't even load on my system (these shortcut issues seem to go back to at least 2015).
This is the only thing that worked for me (circa 2015), along with uninstalling
. . . if you add the following registry entry and reboot the change will persist: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macrium\Reflect\ReflectMonitor
Name: EnableHotKey
Type: DWORD
Value: 0 -
I don't think there's a move-to shortcut on any platform.
The shortcut discussed above, ctrl+alt+m on windows, is to make a mirror copy of a node (i.e. when you paste it, it creates a mirror of that node.)
The "move-to" command is a slash command (type "/mt" after the aforementioned mirror paste).
