Visual Indicator that a Node has been backlinked to

It would be an excellent addition to have some sort of  visual queue showing a node was linked to without needing to drill into the node. +1 if that visual queue also had some sort of count of the number of backlinks. As use case:

- Have an agenda Node with sub entries such as today, next week, next month

- When an item is backlinked to a node a small number/counter appears to the left of the collapsed node visually showing 4 items backlinked to the "Today" agenda node.
