What is the little tab at the bottom of the mobile app (beta)?

Hello all,

For a while now I've been trying to figure exactly what the little tab/drawer thing is at the bottom of the Android mobile app. I've included a picture of what I'm talking about. If I try to grab it and swipe up, nothing seems to happen. It seems to get in the way of the other menu buttons. Is this a new feature in the process of being introduced?

  Hi Spencer,

  This is a visual bug and not a feature :-(. If you delete your app and reinstall, does this drawer still remain?

  Hello Frank, thanks for getting in touch! I've tried un-installing and re-installing but I'm afraid the problem remains. It's not a big deal day-to-day but I was just curious as to what was going on.
