Attach Timers to items

It would be nice if you could attach a persistent timer to an item, for example:

* work on XYZ (5 hour 23 minutes left on timer (pause/unpause) )

  I'd add to the request: a timer that is simply "counting" from 0 till whenever you press "stop" or leave the app or browser tab.
