Version history

I'm using WorkFlowy for writing (academic), coming over from Google Docs for certain applications. To make the transition more complete, I would love to have a version history feature. E.g. WorkFlowy automatically creates backups on some frequency, but more importantly, I can create named versions. This really helps with progressing from one version of a document to the next as the history is "saved" and accessible. For example, I'm about to clean up a bunch of notes on an outline, but I want to "keep" them somewhere I can return to if needed, and the best thing would be to keep them tied to this version and the particular location where they exist now. Thanks. I'm pretty stoked on this tool and have already recommended it to colleagues.

  Hi Whitney,

  At the moment we do have daily automated backups to Dropbox for those who are Pro subscribers... but ideally what we're working towards is an "Archive"/ "Trash can" feature where one can either restore deleted items and/ or un-archive archived data.

  Frank, automatic backups are not quite the right thing. Can you implement the full version control like in github or dropbox and many other services? Thanks a lot!

  This would be a useful feature indeed! However, we can count on one hand the number of people who have requested this. It's not off the table, but it's not something we'd implement this year...

  I second this. For now I duplicate (sometimes humongous) trees and put them under date nodes to keep versions of things without deleting. This makes a bit of a mess and is problematic when searching for things. To side with the team, I don't immediately see a way to implement version history in a clean and unobtrusive way.

  I third this. I would like Github (good) or Google Documents-style Version History (best). This is massively important to me.

  +1 too. version control is defacto standard for everything text based these days.
