Trackpad (magic keyboard on ipad pro) does not register

As title says, I cannot get the trackpad click on magic keyboard for ipad to register click anywhere on the app. I have to tap with my finger on screen to work, which is annoying when I am using the ipad pro with the magic keyboard. Is there any update planned to fix this?
