    Hi D,

The front page probably could not be a board itself... because the home page does not have a parent list... but you can definitely see boards on your home page if one of your top-level lists were a board and you had that list expanded.

We've been deliberating on the width of columns – whether they are to be fixed or adjustable. Right this minute we're talking about having the columns expandable in search mode.

    Hi Frank,

My new idea is in the fancy new left bar, next to the favorites star, you can have a Boards button. If you click that button it creates a board of that favorited item on the main page.  And you repeat that to add as many columns/boards to the page as you like.

    And wider boards please. ;-)

Adjustable width for boards would be ace!

I think boards should be wider. In boards, vertical space is more limited. Horizontal space is plenty. That’s the main difference to bullet mode. The narrow boards make the bullets warp too often, using too much vertical space and decreasing legibility

Any of the above would be helpful.

For my  personal workflow, having it as it is but the rightmost column (only) can take whatever room is available. Hopefully less coding.

I use columns for nesting; left is highest level areas of life/all projects | Projects prioritized and current project open | rightmost column (with massive deadspace to the right) is what I'm doing NOW...

YES, it would be so helpful to have boards automatically resize to fill the screen width!

I have two go-to lists (my projects list & tasks list) that I need to be able to view side-by-side, but I can't really do this in board mode because they're so hard to read that way due to the narrow width.

Seems like this would be the perfect application for the boards feature, but in practice it doesn't work for me.

UPDATE: I just found a workaround for this! If I pull up the boards and then search for a single space, it redisplays the two boards in a way that maximizes the screen width — and also shows me everything on my list, because there are no items without any spaces in them. Yay! :)

Great workaround for column width on boards, Dr Elaine Kiziah!

Frank, Workflowy's DNA as an infinite outline has become our DNA as well. It's useful to have levels of child nodes under many types of parent nodes, and these become hard to follow in the narrow columns of board view.

It would be nice to have a global vertical scroll lift when board is longer than screen vertically.

In my case columns are aligned horizontally (one columns weeks and one column curses).

When longer than screen vertically, i must align manually the 2 columns vertically.

A global lifter would be great.
