Dark Mode issue on macOS Catalina
I noticed a bug with Dark Mode. Basically, if the system is already have the Dark Mode activated and Workflowly is closed, then, if I open the Workflowy, it'll be launched on Day Mode. But, if I put the system into the Day Mode, while having the Workflowy running, and toggle the Dark Mode, the Workflowy will change to Dark Mode as well.
I think what's going on here is that Workflowy is not aware of the state of the system, until it actually changes from one to another.

I can see that this happens the other way around too, if Workflowy is in the Dark Mode and closed. Then, opening it in the morning — while the system is in the Day Mode — doesn't launch it in the Day Mode. So, again, the app isn't aware of system's state.
Also, notice in the screenshot below that after changing the theme manually to Default, the control still looks Dark.

Agree with Amir, I have noticed buggy behavior as well, specifically: I generally use Workflowy only during the day. And it seems like when I open it in the morning, it is in Dark theme even though I never changed that.
What's weird is I think most times I've closed out the app before sundown, so it's as if Workflowy is picking up the system state when it's not open, and then NOT picking it up when I do open it during the day.
I do have auto Dark mode enabled on my Macbook running Catalina.

Hi, I am also having this issue, with macOS Big Sur 11.2.3. It seems that Workflowy changes when either dark mode is changed, but not when light mode changes to dark mode, or any time Night Shift (the red shift screen settings) is changed either way. I think there may be an interaction with Dark Mode and Night shift, having played with the toggles individually.
Are there any updates on this issue? Thanks!
