If you go to userstyles.org and search for workflowy you'll find a few options on the first page. My favorite is "140+ Tab Colors". :) They are very useful if not quite icons. I like them because they are tag triggered CSS. That means I can simply write it out like "got to bank #t-red". It removes '#t-red' automatically an inserts a red tab at the beginning of the line. I use these as indicators for certain things and since they are technically tags they are very useful for searches.

The author is frankman777 which is actually Frank if I don't miss my guess. Thanks Frank!

PS. I think Frank also figured a way to add icons in-line... I've seen them in his videos but I've never attempted to use them. He's got like a whole book on workflowy too. I'm considering getting it for myself for christmas lol.

    PPS. My workflowy setup:
    Extensions:
    Vimflowy
    WFx PowerPack
    Userstyles:
140+ Tab, Background and Bullet colors (modified tabs to be thinner cause I wanted to)
Workflowy Full Width list (I've modified to not interfere with WF elements)
Workflowy 2,3,4,5,6-columns! (I've modified to add 7th column because it was just one short of being a whole week in columns lol)
    Colored tabs

Wow, that's more help than I expected, thank you Alfred.

Frank's a legend. His book "Do Way, Way More in WorkFlowy" is so good he got hired by the founder of WorkFlowy to manage his blog and training. I think a lot more tools have become available since I originally read the book.

No problem! :) If you have any experience with Vim (or want to learn) I'd be hardpressed to recommend anything that will make you more efficient than the Vimflowy extension. I barely touch my mouse anymore. :)

Yeah, frankly Frank is pretty awesome. :D

I have been Bullet Journalling in Workflowy for around 6 months now. This post here started me on my way:

    https://hackernoon.com/workflowy-journal-d33405065d64

I've been trying to stick to most the philosophy of the system, while utilizing the full tagging and hierarchical power of Workflowy.

Basically I have a Daily Log, Monthly Log, and Future Log. Under each of those, I break it down by month and day. I always append new entries at the top so they are freshly visible.

I tag items with #task that I want to find and review later. Then I use a tag cloud at the top to find all the #task's. I also have a Starred page showing #task's. This is a super fast way to filter and focus on what needs to be done.

At the end of each month, I do the Review, and migrate (copy or retype) unfinished #task's to the next Monthly Log, and either cross off the unfinished task, or remove the #task tag (with the cool Alt-click Exploding tag feature). I don't delete the original so I can always refer back to it if needed. I suppose a #migrated task could be used if desired.

I don't use the BuJo Scheduling features in Workflowy. I use Google Calendar for that instead.

I also don't tag notes with #note. At first I tried that, but I found that basically everything that wasn't a #task was a #note. And I never filtered on #note. So I just stop using the tag.

Do whatever works for you. That's the beauty of both BuJo and Workflowy. They are extremely flexible.

Thank you so much, Michael, for your helpful notes on how you use Workflowy for your Bullet Journalling. I'll tinker around and see how it goes!

Bump for visibility! Icons are essential to my workflowy setup, but they are not essential to the content of the bullets. If we could just have the full emoji set as an option for the bullet points, that would be awesome and enable me to more ruthlessly and quickly select text to copy.
