    Hi Mark,

Thank you for the feedback! We are still definitely in "experimental" mode with the left bar. It is very much under construction and is open to any amount of tweaking moving forward!

    I love it too ❤️ :)

Would be great to have the option to change the order individually

Also, the left bar, when toggled, gets on top of the WorkFlowy main content area, thus hiding the nodes data! Yes, that only happens when the "full-width page" experimental feature is on. This "full-width page" is a great feature so the lines can spread longer and they don't wrap. But the left margin of the WorkFlowy main content window should start where the right margin of the left bar ends! That way it would prevent the nodes and text get hidden behind the left bar.
Other solution would be that the main window (the one with the nodes) would be movable and automatically relocate itself to the right when the left bar is displayed.

ps: I hope it's understandable what I am saying (without having to make it graphic)

I used to have that menu problem with the "full-width page" option enabled, but it appears to have been fixed.

Release notes haven't been updated for a while so not sure if they actually fixed it...

Hi @Max... perhaps you are using the desktop app? We've fixed the "full-width page" and related issues with content and the left bar. You should see these changes in the web app... and there is also a new desktop release now:

Hi Frank! Thanks for your quick answer! Yes, I always use the Mac desktop app. Also, I have just downloaded the new WorkFlowy Development app as you suggested. So now I have both versions running.

The problem I still found in both desktop apps and also in the web version is still an issue. Let me be more explicit:

What I mean is that when you mouse hover the hamburger menu (not when it is fixed), the left bar displays to the right thus hiding all the data one have. It should be a neat UX response that the main content also moves to the right accompanying the movement of the left bar, so to align the main content right margin to the temporary displayed left menu right margin.

Other elegant solution would be to make the left margin of the main menu (when "full-width page" is selected) to be always aligned to the same point where the left menu shows up when one hovers the hamburger menu. That way the, nodes information woudn't be covered by the appearing of the left menu.

Does now make sense the issue I'm describung? Thanks

    Hi Max,

Ok... I understand perfectly what you're describing. Hovering over the hamburger menu brings up the left bar and hiding some of the page content... even more so if you have "full-width page" enabled. I had imagined that you were describing a bug... but it's actually part of the design so that one's whole page doesn't shift back and forth when one wants to hover to show and hide the left bar. It is a bit jarring to some. The other option is to have the left bar activated (by clicking instead of hovering over the hamburger icon, as you already know)... and this would behave pretty much the way you are describing how you'd like the hover option to behave. At least this is what I think you're saying.

I don't particularly like the left bar expanded all the time and neither do I use the hover dynamic... and so I might suggest what I do: I keep my left bar activated... but I drag it all the way to the left when not in use and back out again when I want to see it. I quite enjoy this. Full control. Would you try this and see if this is a good fit for you?

    Hi Frank,

The same as you, I don't like to leave the left bar expanded all the time cluttering my nodes working space. That's why I only bring it when I need it by hovering over the hamburger menu.

Yes, I tried the suggestions you mentioned but neither of them seems to be functional elegant UX solutions. I just see them as rather sloppy roundabouts.

One should be able to still read the node's content while the left bar expands. One of the left bar most handy function is to be able to drag items from the nodes main area to reorder them in the left bar.

Unfortunately, this is not possible when the left bar hides the main node's area. That's why I see this issue as a significant usability problem and not just a design decision. If this is the way the developers intended it to be, I cannot agree with that resolution as it brakes some essential UI usability principles. I believe a simple and suitable solution would be to set the right margin of the content (main node's area) to be where the right margin of the left bar opens when it hovered over. Of course, I am making the case for all of us who use the "full-width page" always enabled to have longer lines without wrapping!

I submit this observation as a designer but also as a WorkFlowy (and similar apps) power user for more than a decade. Other than this, I love all the new changes, enhancements and nicer design WF has been implementing in the last year, so huge compliments on all those improvements!!

    Thanks for your elaborate reply!
