iOS app: individual items become unresponsive at times
CompletedHi!
This is a minor glitch that is not in any way destroying my workflow, but causes a bit of extra effort every once in a while. I have no idea how hard it is to find the cause or make a fix based on this, but I'm sharing it in hopes that it acts as a small contribution to help refine an already great application :)
I unfortunately haven't been able to figure out a consistent way of reproducing this and it really doesn't happen all the time, more like a few times a month in my use. I think it's been there at least since 3.0 (but not 100% sure) and I'll keep observing it and can share more information as I see this happen. Here's now what I've deduced so far.
The gist of the issue is an individual item becoming "unresponsive". Meaning it does not react to touch press so it cannot be edited, and won't expand by pressing the expand icon. Trying to swipe the item left or right will not work either. However I've found that if I instead swipe some other item horizontally, the unresponsive item will start functioning normally again. Expanding or editing another item won't do the trick, only swiping of another item will.
I'm uncertain if it's related to swiping left or swiping right or both. My habit has become to swipe some other item to both directions, just enough to see a little bit of red and a little bit of green; then go back to the original item. I can pay more attention to trying one direction first and try the unresponsive item then before swiping the other direction.
Finally a little bit of speculation I'm not that sure about, just a hunch: this might be related to scrolling a list vertically, maybe some combination of vertical scrolling and my thumb hitting the screen in very specific angle and velocity? Or it could be just something related to vertical scrolling and some unfortunate combination of events. I wouldn't completely rule out drag & drop functionality being part of it either as I found this earlier post. But again, not sure, take this paragraph with healthy skepticism.
Anyway, thanks for your efforts towards Workflowy, it has helped keep my life together!
