Copying text copies format as well

I use the dark theme in the desktop app, and every time I copy text into another program (e.g. Word or e-mail software), the text appears with black background and WorkFlowy font. Is there a way of stripping out formatting when copying text?

  When I have something where it carries over the formatting from Workflowy I'll perform a simple text paste using 

  Ctrl+Shift+V
