Drag and drop : room for improvement
CompletedHi Lee, I can see a lot of bug fixes about issues with drag and drop, but I can't find one that captures exactly the issue I see. I'm on a Mac (Sierra) using Chrome. When you drag a large list of items, you'd expect the focus target of where the dragging destination is would be the mouse pointer. But it's not.
This is because the offset movement resulting from the drag is taken to be be with respect to the first item in the list. For a large list (and if you are dragging below the list), it means you've got to drag (at least) the height of the selected items before you can actually move the list at all.
Solution? After you have selected your list and then click down on the mouse to begin the move (drag) operation, make the destination fall underneath where the pointer currently sits on screen.
Job's a good'un, as my brother-in-law would say.
