Android version so slow (compared to the speedy app before the major change)
AnsweredI was afraid this would happen and expressed my concerns in the beta discussion group. It was a shared fear of many in the months of comments prior to release.
The old Android app - before the major update a couple months ago - was the perfection of simplicity and speed.
Now, I have an idea I need to jot down and by the time the app opens and keyboard loads and the prompt appears, it's actually left my brain.
Super slow load time
Super slow keyboard response - actually have to type things twice. Type, wait, retype, pray, check, check, recheck - tapping to move the cursor is even an uncertain time sink
So many steps drilling down just to verify it's actually saved so that I have to wait just to confidently quit
Soooo frustrating. I know it will never be like it was. I miss Workflowy.

Agree. I use the #next tag to show me the next actionable item on all my projects, and I have about 500 bullets tagged that way and selecting this tag takes seconds to display, then scrolling and editing is unusably sluggish. On the desktop I will then dupicate the actions I intend to take today, then select the #copy tag and move those items up to my Today bullet. The combination of the slow nagivation after selecting a tag and the fact I haven't been able to find a duplicate action anyplace mean that the mobile app is now only good for showing me the to-do list that I've arranged on the PC. I have to fire up the PC every morning just to select items for the morning. This has drastically reduced the value of workflowy to me and has me casting about whether I can find an alternative.
The main thing currently keeping me onboard is its core features of collapsing, moving, duplicating, tagging and completing bullets, which are a boon in the office when I am at a PC the whole time. Please try to keep the mobile app consistent with the desktop!

Thanks for voicing your frustrations about the Android app and its speed.
Can you also tell us what phone and OS you are running? We would like to improve this.
We haven't yet had time to build 'Duplicate' on mobile yet (we are a small team of 3 developers, moving as fast as we can). We hear your request though, as many others have expressed it as well, and we will work to get the bandwidth to tackle it.
Thanks for writing in.

I understand earlier this year, you guys pushed for a revised version of Workflowy that would better follow Android standards because the original Workflowy app had some non-standard functionality. I get it. I'm just sad it impacted performance so negatively and I expressed those concerns during the beta. The original version may have had its quirks, but it was super fast and usable. I know you can never go back. But the new version needs some serious optimizations.
Thanks for the feedback. It helps provide some perspective. Good luck!

I'm using a Galaxy S4 phone (modèle GT-I9505) with Android 5.0.1. (I can send more details if you need).
The slowness to start is killing me... I use Workflowy for absolutely everything, I must open it more than 100 times a day, and it takes between 10 seconds and 5 minutes to open (most of the time around 20-30 seconds I reckon)! It's becoming very painful to use.If I can send you any information to help with this issue, let me know (logs, testing specific test versions on my phone, etc).
