Consistent "New Item" behavior between mobile and web

The new mobile app has a Plus Icon (+) that adds new items to the top of the list.  This took some getting used to because I would have expected it to add to the bottom of the list.  Now that I'm used to it, I want to use the same workflow in the web app and make the top of the list my "Inbox".  To accomplish adding to the top of the list in the web app, I have to click the first element in just the right spot (there is some whitespace between the bullet and the first character that aren't clickable), get to the beginning of the line (if I missed it on the first try), and then press enter on the keyboard.  I would love to be able to create an item at the top of the list with a single click just like the mobile app does.

I can get close to a single click to add a new item to the bottom of the list in the web app if a bullet item is expanded because there is an "add sibling" icon on hover in the left gutter.  There is also a stylish style (here https://userstyles.org/styles/151650/workflowy-plus-list-bottom) that adds a dedicated plus button to the bottom of the list.  It's not ideal but it does work for adding to the end of the list.  Unfortunately in order to add a new item to the bottom of the list in mobile I have to tap on the last item in the list and scroll to the end of the line (often frustrating on mobile) and then press enter.  This works most of the time unless the current bug in the Android app makes the cursor disappear when I press enter.

I would love it if, regardless of platform, I could add a new item with a single tap, click, or keystroke, to a consistent location whether that be to the top or the bottom of the list.

Perhaps a plus button on the web app that acts the same way as the one on mobile.

It would also be useful if there was a way to configure whether that icon (on any platform) adds to the top or the bottom of the list.  That or provide a mechanism to do either based on where you are on the list.  ie. an icon at the very top of the list and another at the very bottom.

Maybe the plus button could have a configurable default target location in settings (top|bottom) but if you drag the plus icon and drop it somewhere in the current list, it would create a new item wherever you dropped it.  That would be epic!
