    Hi Alan,

What do you mean by "disappears"? Is the WorkFlowy launch icon vanishing? Or the WorkFlowy window? Or the exe itself?

Does this have anything to do with virus-detection software that might be unsure of a new exe?

For more help troubleshooting this, write to help@workflowy.com

    Thanks,

    Lee

Have the same problem: Icon and Workflowy both disappear after I click "A new version of Workflowy is ready to use. Just restart to use it." Maybe because I have a Dutch version of Windows 10 and the install-path doesn't take this into account?

Update: The exe is missing in \AppData\Local\Programs\WorkFlowy\WorkFlowy.exe where I do see the Uninstall Workflowy exe.

So I re-install via the Workflowy-Installer that I have downloaded manually and after starting it up it works, but I keep getting the "A new version of Workflowy is ready to use. Just restart to use it." notification.

Even after simply closing the Windows 10 app, everything disappears from the directory, except the Uninstall Workflowy exe.

    My windows app disappeared too.

A message appeared in the app saying that a new version of the app was ready to be used, I just had to restart the app. I restarted the application, and the app disappeared.

I donwload again two more times, but the same problem occurred. Installs normally, works fine, but then that message appears again. When I close the app it disappears. Using the portuguese (Brazil) version.

I'm using the site version now.

    Hi friends,

    Hi there,

Our apologies. We accidentally pushed a build of the Desktop app yesterday that broke for everyone.

If you'd like to reinstall a working version you can use this link: https://github.com/workflowy/desktop/releases/download/v1.0.15/WorkFlowy.exe

We will let you know as soon as this situation is resolved.

Again our sincere apologies and we appreciate your understanding and patience.

Note: Alan's original post 6 days ago was about the app disappearing was due to his specific Virus Software deleting it.

Thanks and more as we know it.

The Desktop app is now fixed.

If you have any trouble, just reinstall from this link: https://workflowy.com/downloads/windows/

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Hello,

Same problem on my side, none of the two installer packages has changed anything. When I launch the app, the window app simply doesn't show, as if it was displaid in a "ghost" screen"...

Are you still having this issue? If so, please write to help@workflowy.com and we can try to troubleshoot this with you. Sometimes an external monitor can create a "ghost" screen.

    Hello

I found the solution on the web. It's ghost screen problem indeed. So, when it happens, shift+right click on opened application not showing, then select move, then move arrow to move it to the main windows.

It's still happening. I can see 4 workflowy processes in the task manager but the app window is not visible not does it appear in the task bar as it used to. I tried installing the older version listed above but the same thing happens. What coul be going on?

Solved: I had to uninstall Workflowy using RevoUninstaller Advaced mode, it deleted all folders and registry entries and then I was able to reinstall it from scratch. This time it worked.

Thanks, we'll look into this. In the meantime I suggest Javier's tip above, it seems to work for others.

Miguel- this is related to a bug with Electron-Builder https://github.com/electron-userland/electron-builder/issues/2514 so it is out of our hands for now unfortunately.

So is this still not fixed? I installed Workflowy on my computer a few weeks ago, and it has just disappeared.

I have checked and there are still references to it in the registry, but the app has just gone. I tried to download it again to reinstall, but now Windows Defender is warning me against it.

    What is going on?

    Hi Phillip,

Not sure if the defender warning is related to the app disappearing...

You can push through the warning by clicking on "more information" and powering through the install. We are aware of this issue and are trying to resolve/ get in touch with Microsoft. In the meantime, WorkFlowy is safe to install...
