    Added this entry in desktop file and issue resolved for me. For me - two dock icons came. The correct and the incorrect one as an instance. So grouping windows resolved it.

    StartupWMClass=workflowy

    In your case, I think the issue is app image is not in the respective path mentioned in desktop file.

    I can confirm that the simple fix listed above resolves this. It also resolves another issue -- prior to adding that line it was impossible to add Workflowy as a 'favorite' app (keeping it in the dock.

    Can someone at workflowy simply update the desktop template file to include that line?

    Same problem still exists FYI. Same workaround did get the icon to be correct for me. I'm on Linux Mint 19.

    FYI on Linux Mint run this command to work around the issue:

    echo StartupWMClass=workflowy >> ~/.local/share/applications/appimagekit-workflowy.desktop

    Then restart the workflowy appimage and the icon should be visible in the window list on the panel.

    Same issue, same solution.

    What's still annoying is that every app update overrides the desktop entry so that I have to reapply the patch for every update.

    Could someone at Workflowy add the settings to the desktop entry as Matthew asked?

    This issue still exists, and this workaround just worked for me, on Ubuntu 18.04.

    Probably this thread should not be marked "Completed" since there is a fix that hasn't been deployed yet?

    Still an issue with the appimage downloaded this week... :(

    I'm on Pop! OS 19.10 64-bit (Gnome 3.34.2)
