delete shortcut move cursor to line above instead of line below

When using a shortcut to delete a line, the cursor moves to line above instead of moving to line below. This behaviour is counter intuitive and the opposite of all text editors/IDE I have ever used. For example, if you want to delete the 3 following and you use the shortcut three times, the lines above the initial cursor position will be deleted.
