Split-pane SEARCH results

I understand split-pane has been on the "under consideration" for several years. This is not that. 

What I'm suggesting is two panes of results on a search. Pane 1 is results from current node down. Pane 2 is from top/home down. 

Because I'm tired of running a search in the wrong node level. Plus, it would produce nice surprises and discoveries.
