To add a date
Add a date with numbers ↗️
Add a date with natural language ↗️
You can add date tags to any item.
Date tags allow you to search for dates and date ranges.
There are multiple ways to input dates, either with number or with natural language.
Date tags currently only work in US formats.
Add a date with numbers
MM = month, DD = day, YY = year
- Start typing a date in a US format
- There are multiple US date formats:
- MM-DD-YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY
- MM-DD-YY, MM/DD/YY
- MM-DD, MM/DD
- At some point the date widget will pop up and suggest a date
- Once the suggestion matches the date you want you can hit ENTER
Add a date with natural language
Workflowy can also understand several natural language dates.
- Start typing a natural language date
- You can use the following terms:
- today, tomorrow, yesterday
- this week, next week, last week
- this month, next month, last month
- this year, next year, last year
- At some point the date widget will pop up and suggest a date
- Once the suggestion matches the date you want you can hit ENTER

When will non-US Date formats be supported?
Dear Workflowy Team, would you be able to add another natural language selector, something like
* upcoming
* next
* last
* previous
'day of the week'.
Not all are needed, but the new "solution" to jump forward or backward via prompt + weekday would be truly amazing.
Yes when will non-US Date formats be supported?
They have already implemented the ISO date format "YYYY-MM-DD", and other international formats. You will need to adjust your preferences inside settings.
How about "Mon earlier this week"? Example: it's Thu 5/23 now, I'm trying to get Mon 5/20.
"Mon" gives me "next Mon." 5/27. That's good, it's what I usually intend. But not in this case.
And "last Mon" gives me the Mon of the prior week, 5/13, not the Mon earlier this week, 5/20.
Suggestions? Thanks much.
