Color Formatting

We are planning to allow colors as part of formatting features, but it's not available yet.

However, there are two unofficial Google Chrome extentions to allow color formatting....

Workflowy Painter

Workflowy Colorful Tags

I was coming on here to request just this! Any word on when we will have color formatting? Would be SO great to go on the list and see what my co-worker has newly added via color!

Here is an extension I wrote for code formatting:

    Hope someone finds it useful!

Even though the extensions are a great idea they still won't work with the desktop app.

Just like the Stylebot extension which allows for custom formatting (beyond the Pro option for custom themes/fonts), anything that's not built into WF won't work in the "native" app. Since I prefer having the app open at all times, these solutions simply won't do the job 😐

    Any thoughts on this?

+1 on this! At least please distinguish @ and # tags in the CSS classes so one can use stylish to color them differently.

Agreed! This feature won't break the wonderful simplicity of Workflowy

This is something realy simple. Please add it because is not more, is less so is good to have. I don't want extensions. If the style code is saved in a text box and auto loaded in page is so easy to implement. Also the option the change the background - what's with this limit? Whit other request to have calendar and deadline and other functionalities I agree with the simple aproach - best! keep it! :)

Thumb up for this one to be solved 100x, please!

Color for lists and background color would be great features!

Color formatting is being actively worked on by our developers.

I'm using Workflowy Re-Painter to highlight my lists, but cannot seem to find a way for the document to print with the formatting in place.  Is there a way to do that?

@Peter. Maybe try doing a screehshot and then printing if that's what you're referencing.

Thanks LaMont.  That's what I ended up doing since I was in a time crunch to present an outline to some business partners.  However, it is a pretty "inelegant" workaround.  I wish there was a more straightforward way to do it from Workflowy.

I did some scripts for color formating.

If you write me on skuhrovec@volny.cz I can send the script.

Workflowy is terrific and it will take a giant step forward by adding color formatting to allow for highlighting of text, etc. .....and without having to use codes. Just a simple click of the mouse and selection option.

I really miss not being able to Highlight text to make important information stand out.

Thanks for letting us know that developers are working on it.....really looking forward to it!

The Chrome extensions do not work with the desktop version of Workflowy. SAD! (as someone famous would say).
